Tom Eastman has signed a new contract at Colchester United
The twenty five year old put pen to paper on a new two year deal, just before joining in with the U's first day of pre-season training.
Having signed initially in the summer of 2011, Eastman is the U's longest serving player and has made over 230 appearances across the past six seasons.
"I had an option on my contract on the club's side, and they decided to take that up and keep me. I signed an extra year on top so my contract is for the next two years.
"I'm really looking forward to being here for another two years and getting us back into League One."
The U's centre half was speaking to cu-fc.com and the Colchester Gazette immediately after the first morning's work of pre-season and was still short of breath when he explained how hard the initial training is.
"We always know that the first day back is going to be pretty tough, but the lads work hard over the summer so they're ready for pre-season - and I think they're all happy to be back."
