Colchester United will face Aston Villa in the First Round of this year's Carabao Cup, after the draw was made on Friday lunchtime.
The U's will take on their Championship opponents at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, as the season gets into full swing at the start of August.
Villa finished in 13th in the second tier last season and will be gunning for promotion to the top flight under Steve Bruce's management this time around.
The match will take place on the week beginning August 7th and full ticketing details will be released in due course as we look forward to the start of the new season!
