Szmodics and Bonne return to U's squad.
Saturday's game should see a bumper crowd at the Abbey Stadium, boosted by the support of 1,400 U's fans making the trip from north Essex.
They will both miss the remainder of the season, so the likes of Szmodics and Bonne may have the opportunity to step into their boots.
It is a welcome return to the first team fold for the two forwards, with Craig Slater and Kurtis Guthrie having been ruled out.
He is joined by fellow Academy product Macauley Bonne, who has only just returned from a loan spell at Woking.
Sammie Szmodics has now recovered from an ankle injury that has kept him out since the Mansfield game in early December.
Both make the trip to Cambridge United this weekend, hoping to be involved against the U's East Anglian rivals.
