Tommy's Run Success

6 March 2017

U's fan runs from Colchester to Cambridge.

Colchester United fan Tommy Leggett made it safely to Cambridge at the weekend, after taking on the 45 mile journey by foot.

Tommy, who ran to Roots Hall for the U's game against Southend last season, set off at 3.30am on Saturday morning to reach the match at the Cambs Glass Stadium.

And, just after 2pm, he safely arrived ahead of the weekend match.

Tommy was running to raise funds for the medical care of his son Alfie, who was born with Norrie disease.

Thanks to the generosity of both sets of supporters, Tommy managed to raise over £3,000 at the weekend. He was also very kindly given a signed Cambridge shirt by home player Josh Coulson.
