Colchester United's U23s will take their next step in this year's Premier League Cup on Friday evening.
The U's ventured through their group fixtures, progressing through in second place behind Hull City, but ahead of Manchester City and Derby County.
They were paired with the Black Cats in the Second Round draw and will go north on Friday in a 7pm kick-off.
The game will take place at Eppleton Colliery Welfare with a place in the quarter-finals on offer for the winners.
Entry to the game is priced at £3 for adults and £1 for over 65s and U16s, available on the day of the game only.
