Boss' thanks for your support ahead of crunch game.
John's e-mail is detailed in full below!
John is approaching his first year in charge of the U's and, on Friday morning, sent out an e-mail to supporters to praise their backing over the past season. With the U's big game against Yeovil less than 24 hours away, Head Coach John McGreal has written to fans to offer his thanks for their support so far this season.
After nine months' hard work and 45 matches, we will go into Saturday's game against Yeovil Town with a very clear job in hand - to win the match and give ourselves a chance of making the play-off spots.
Ahead of Saturday, I wanted to write to you to thank you all for your tremendous support over the course of the season.
The team have had to deal with many setbacks over the season and, every step of the way, our supporters have been with us on that journey.
I have a huge deal of respect for those fans who turn out and support the team, often making long trips to the other end of the country to get behind the boys.
We have made sure we have shown our appreciation at the end of each match for the backing you have given us and myself and the players truly appreciate your support.
We would have liked to have thanked you at the end of the Leyton Orient game, but it wasn't to be on that occasion. However, your support on the day was superb yet again and helped us over the line to ensure that the season goes to the final day.
I have been hearing all week about the buzz that the fans are creating around the game and we will need that from minute one until the final kick of the match against Yeovil.
They won't come here and roll over at the weekend, so we will have to be on our game to get the three points.
Thank you again and see you on Saturday,
However, I am sure with your vocal backing, the team will give absolutely everything to get the win we all need before looking at the results elsewhere!
