John's Positive October Earns Nomination

Manager shortlisted for monthly award

7 November 2017

Colchester United Head Coach John McGreal has been shortlisted for the October Manager of the Month.

The U's manager led the team back up the League Two table in a productive few weeks for the club, collecting ten points from five games.

And they'll be aiming to continue that run as November's fixtures get underway at Barnet on Saturday.

John has already won one managerial award since taking the hotseat at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, collecting the accolade in December 2016.

Up against John for the latest award:-

Neil Aspin (Port Vale)
Arrived in Burslem with Vale stuck on five points from 11 games. Three wins from five League Two fixtures later, including a 1-0 triumph at promotion-chasing Exeter, and Aspin’s new team had built both its confidence and points tally.

Mark Cooper (Forest Green Rovers)
Life in the EFL didn’t seem easy with Rovers bottom in September. There was no panic from Cooper, though. A draw at leaders Notts County was followed by victories at Coventry and Stevenage, part of a 10-point haul from five games.

Nathan Jones (Luton Town)
Has built a side full of attacking intent, as shown by their 13-5 goal differential in collecting 10 points from five games. A 7-1 home win over Stevenage was followed three days later by a 4-1 victory at promotion rivals Exeter.

Good luck to John in the monthly nominations!
