Pose Your Questions To Casey!

Your chance to quiz England star before Colchester visit

20 November 2017

Colchester United supporters and local grassroots football teams are being encouraged to send in their questions for Lionesses star Casey Stoney, with the England Women’s visit to north Essex now only a week away.

The U’s are expecting a packed stadium for the match at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, with over 8,500 tickets already sold for the World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan.

And Casey and her teammates will look to build on their recent impressive win over Russia at Tranmere when they play in Colchester on November 28th.

Female football enthusiasts can pose questions to Casey by e-mailing into media@colchesterunited.net or by tweeting the club account at @ColU_Official. We will then get the lowdown from the Basildon based player ahead of the big match.

Casey is one of 26 players named by interim head coach Mo Marley for this month's 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying double-header.

Marley has handed Keira Walsh and Leah Williamson their first England senior call-ups.

The midfield duo have both featured for Marley in the England Women's U19s and have progressed through the age groups. They were part of the U23s squad that won the Nordic Tournament in May.

Elsewhere, Manchester City goalkeeper Karen Bardsley returns from injury but Reading midfielder Jade Moore misses out following ankle surgery.

The Lionesses will face Bosnia & Herzegovina at Walsall's Banks's Stadium on Friday 24 November (7.05pm KO).

They will then travel to Colchester where they will play Kazakhstan at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday 28 November (7.05pm KO).

Over 8,000 tickets have now been sold for the visit to the U's home venue and you can book your spot on the www.colutickets.com website.

England started their qualifying campaign in September, with a comprehensive 6-0 win against Russia.

Marley said: “These matches are hugely important to the World Cup qualifying campaign and we will be looking to get two good results, and finish 2017 in strong fashion.

"I know Keira and Leah well from the WU19s set up and they are both talented young players with lots of potential and playing well for their clubs, and I am pleased to welcome them into the senior squad.

"We are looking forward to ending the year with two home games. We are expecting good crowds at both matches and will be going out to put on two excellent performances for our supporters."
