Colchester United U15s drew with Arsenal in their latest Premier League Floodlit Cup, withe the game finishing 2-2.
The home side took the lead early on in the game, as a driving run from Todd Miller got him to the byline and his low cross was turned into his own net by an Arsenal defender.
The U's were playing well, but found themselves pegged back as the visitors scored from a powerful header from a corner.
The next chance was to go to the U's and they almost restored their lead as Emmanuel Akpan beat the offside trap, only for his shot to cannon back off the crossbar, having beaten the keeper.
Arsenal then took the lead as they sprung the offside trap themselves and their forward calmly slid the ball home to put them in front for the first time.
The U's remained well in the game, though and the lively Miller drew the home side level in the second half, as the U15s picked up a well deserved point in their second Premier League Floodlit Cup group game.
The U's have home games remaining against Leicester City and Norwich City - further information on these games will follow in due course.
