Colchester United began their Central League Cup games with a draw on Tuesday afternoon, in a match that saw Craig Slater get further minutes under his belt.
After a goalless first half, the game exploded into life in the final twenty minutes of the match.
The U's took the lead as Tommy O'Sullivan added another goal to his tally, with a shot from the left hand edge of the penalty box.
But the U's then found themselves behind as they conceded twice in a matter of minutes.
First Wabo smacked in a shot via the underside of the crossbar, before Batlowka cut in to score off the base of the far post.
The game was to finish all square, though, as Nicke Kambamba reacted quickest to a deflected Will Wright cross to level things up.
