England U19s Visit Florence Park

National side hold training session ahead of European trip

3 October 2017

Colchester United welcomed England's U19s players to Florence Park on Tuesday afternoon, ahead of a friendly double header for Paul Simpson's side.

The U19s ran out winners in the European Championships in the summer and have now begun the qualifiers for the next Euros tournament.

Ahead of qualifiers in November, Simpson's players will take on the Czech Republic on Friday and Slovakia on Monday.

And they got together ahead of their trip to Europe for a training session at the U's training ground.

U's Director of Football Tony Humes said: "We were pleased to welcome Paul and his players to the training ground ahead of their flight to the Czech Republic.

"This is the latest occasion that a national side have chosen to use our great facilities at Florence Park and it was a good opportunity for our coaches to watch both the players and the England staff in action.

"We look forward to hosting similar visits in the future."
