Young forward builds relationship with Colchester club

26 October 2017

Colchester United player Louis Dunne surprised St Edmunds Youth FC U15s players at the weekend as he took his place on the sidelines to watch them run out 5-2 winners in the Colchester and District Youth League Cup Round Two tie at Long Melford.

Having presented trophies to club players at their presentation evening back in July, Louis has also been to a training session with the team, passing on his knowledge and experience to the players.

Reflecting on the match, Louis said: "There are some great young players enjoying their football, and it is really good to see."

The St Edmunds U15s team won 19 out of 20 League matches last season to win the league and promotion, and this season has started well with The Saints winning 4 out of 4 league games and now progressing to Round Three of the cup.

The club have great links with Colchester United and provide ball boys and girls for all the U's home games and are very excited to be providing ball boys and girls for the Lionesses upcoming match against Kazakhstan at the Weston Homes Community Stadium next month.
