Colchester United's U23s picked up a battling point in their latest away day.
They travelled to near neighbours Ipswich Town on Monday afternoon, aiming to build on a creditable draw against an experienced Charlton side last time out.
In a closely fought first half, Eoin McKeown came closest to breaking the deadlock, as his shot came back off the base of the post.
Town were the first to hit the back of the net, with Ben Folami sliding in Monty Patterson, who beat Dan Wilks in the U's goal.
Wilks kept the U's in the game as he saved from Folami later in the second half, and the U's drew level eight minutes from time.
Tommy O'Sullivan embarked on a winding run before putting his shot into the top corner to earn the U's a draw.
