Colchester United winger Brennan Dickenson is making good progress from his knee injury as he continues to work hard on his rehabilitation.
The former Gillingham man sustained his knee injury at the back end of last season and is set to return in early 2018, and Head Coach John McGreal is happy with how he's getting on.
Speaking on Thursday, he said: "Brennan has been back out on the grass recently, doing some work with Tony Flynn.
"He has also been working hard in the gym, so he's looking strong at the moment."
The U's welcomed Kurtis Guthrie back into match action on Monday night and he is expected to build up steadily to a first team return.
And John urged caution around Brennan too, saying: "We are still expecting him back after the turn of the year.
"This type of injury is not one you can change the timeline on and we'll give him every bit of support he needs."
