Duo Help Jammers To Victory

Clampin scores the winning penalty

20 September 2017

Colchester United duo Dominic Kurasik and Ryan Clampin helped Maldon & Tiptree progress to the next round of the League Cup on Tuesday night, as they overcame Leiston on penalties.

Bostik Premier side Leiston have had a strong start to their league season, winning five out of seven to establish themselves among the early front runners.

And they took the lead in the game as Matt Blake unselfishly squared to Sam Ford to slot home from close range after they had escaped on the counter attack.

However, Maldon were to have the better of the second half and got a deserved equaliser through Chris Millar.

The match went straight to penalties and, on his debut having signed on loan earlier in the day, Kurasik saved the fifth Leiston penalty after going the right way for the previous four.

That set it up for Clampin to take Maldon's fifth and he made no mistake as he put the Jammers through to the next round.
