Colchester United are delighted to confirm that defender Frankie Kent has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the club.
The 21-year-old has now racked up 63 first team appearances and has scored twice for John McGreal's side - with both goals coming this season.
And he has now penned a new two and a half deal to extend his stay until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Frankie's performances have caught the eye this season, and Director of Football Tony Humes said: "Frankie has progressed well over the last couple of years since breaking through as a teenager and he is now one of the first choices within the team.
"His development and progress during his time in the first team has been down to his hard work and determination, alongside his undoubted natural talent.
"It's been no surprise that his displays have attracted interest, with clubs at a higher level coming to watch him at games.
"With that in mind, it's great that he's agreed to sign this new deal and we are confident that he will continue to make big strides and prove that he can play at a higher level in the future."
We'll have more reaction from Frankie soon!
