The dates have now been confirmed for the U's three Checkatrade Trophy fixtures in this season's group stage.
The U's will have two home games in this year's competition, including a match against Essex rivals Southend United.
The three fixtures are as follows:-
Colchester United v Southampton
Tuesday 4th September – 7.45pm KO
Colchester United v Southend United
Tuesday 9th October – 7.45pm KO
Cambridge United v Colchester United
Tuesday 13th November – 7.45pm KO
