Town Win U18s Clash

Tractor Boys win in latest derby encounter

3 December 2018

Colchester United's U18s fell to defeat on Saturday morning on a wet and windy day at Ipswich Town's Playford Road training ground.

Town had a couple of early chances, but it wasn't until the 20th minute mark that the home side got their noses in front, as Ross Crane swept home.

They doubled their lead ten minutes later, as Armando Dobra converted a penalty, and then Idris El Mizouni ran clear later in the half to slot home and make it 3-0 to the Tractor Boys.

The U's pulled one back on the hour mark when Al-Amin Kazeem's long distance shot flew over the keeper's head and into the net.

But Town quickly made it 4-1 as Doubra got his second as he finished tidily past Coulter.

A second long range effort by the U's, this time by Gene Kennedy, saw the visitors make it 4-2 but again the hosts responded as Tommy Hughes slotted home.

Oyoye Ossie bent home a fine finish to make it 5-3, but Town were to have the final say as Bailey Clements headed home from a corner.

U's: Coulter, Wind, Fouche, Cracknell, Kazeem, Cornish, Kennedy, Marshall, Hutchinson, Ossie, Hasanally
