Colchester United play their last home game before Christmas on Saturday, as they take on a Macclesfield Town side that have closed the gap on safety in the last couple of weeks.
Back to back wins have lifted the Silkmen to within four points of safety and they will have a new man in the dugout this weekend as Sol Campbell takes charge of his first League Two fixture.
The U's have won seven out of ten at home so far this season and will be keen to extend that run on Saturday.
They will have benefitted from a weekend off ahead of the hectic festive period and John McGreal is itching to get started again.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, he said: “It would be great to pick up where we left off.
“Our last two performances have been very good to get the four points.
“It’s nice to be back at home again – we’re mindful of the opposition and have a lot of respect for them but generally, it’s about what we do.
“The boys have performed to a really good level.
“It’s going to be tough because as you saw with Exeter, they came with a different style of play and different plan.
“But it’s not for the lack of trying and I think the fans do appreciate the style of football we try and play and we’ve been able to get wins, which has been nice.”
Tickets remain at the Advance Rate until 2.00pm on Saturday online, and there's still parking available to buy on our colutickets.com website.
