6 February 2018

Cameron James got off to a winning start in his loan spell with Chelmsford City, as they beat Chippenham Town 2-0 on Saturday.

Whilst the U’s were getting back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Newport County, Chelmsford were also back on track as they ran out winners by the same scoreline at the weekend.

There was also a successful day for recent acquisition Aaron Barnes, who played ninety minutes for Torquay as they picked up a useful victory at home to Barrow.

Callum Sturgess played another ninety minutes for Needham Market as they defeated Tonbridge Angels 4-2 on Saturday, whilst Ryan Clampin got an assist and 88 minutes under his belt for Maldon, as they strengthened their promotion hopes with a 3-1 win over Soham Town.

Denny Johnstone’s St Johnstone side were defeated 1-0 by Hearts at Tynecastle, and George Keys played 90 minutes as Brightlingsea lost to Folkestone Invicta in a dramatic finale to the game.

Craig Slater and Dillon Barnes saw their respective games for Dundee United and Hemel FC postponed, whilst Tommy O’Sullivan and Josh Pollard were not in action for Torquay and Maldon.
