Hanlan Returns To Addicks

Striker heads back to Charlton

18 January 2018

Brandon Hanlan's loan spell at Colchester United has come to an end.

The twenty year old joined the U's in the August transfer window, and was a regular in the U's squad in his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

His ten league starts came early in his loan spell but in recent weeks, he had to be content with a place on the U's bench.

He scored twice for the U's, and there was praise from Head Coach John McGreal when he discussed Brandon's return to Charlton on Thursday lunchtime.

"Brandon came in during the August window, when we needed more bodies in the attacking areas.

"He was a big part of us turning around our form at the end of September, and into October, and worked extremely well in a two with Mika.

"It was unfortunate that we tweaked the system a bit after that and he didn't get as many starts then as he would have liked.

"It was decided that it would be best for both parties for him to return to Charlton, and we wish him all the best in his career, wherever that might take him."
