Colchester United boss John McGreal has been shortlisted for League Two Manager of the Month after a positive December for the club.
The U's Head Coach guided his side to eleven points in December, with a five game unbeaten run, to thrust his side into the thick of the play-off and promotion race as the new year arrived.
It continues a fine record that John has accumulated since taking over as U's boss, with this being his fourth nomination in partnership with assistant Steve Ball.
Appointed ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season, John has now received four monthly nominations, winning the December 2016 award and also being shortlisted in October 2016 and October 2017.
John is up against the following three managers for December 2017:-
Neil Aspin (Port Vale)
Having arrested the downward spiral at Vale Park, Aspin injected momentum into his side’s progress in December with an outstanding return of 13 points from five unbeaten matches, the highlight being a convincing 4-0 win over league leaders Luton.
Danny Cowley (Lincoln City)
His side have improved every month on their return to the Sky Bet EFL. The confidence he has infused in his players shone through in December as they gained 13 points from a possible 15 and moved into the automatic promotion places.
Nathan Jones (Luton Town)
Another free-scoring month for his side included an emphatic 5-0 away win at Swindon as they collected 10 points from five games. Best of all, his players are being encouraged just to have fun as they continue to lead the way.
The winners will be revealed on Friday, ahead of the U's weekend trip to Wycombe Wanderers.
