Kinsella off to a winning start with Shots

8 January 2018

Lewis Kinsella got off to a winning start to his loan period, as Aldershot picked up all three points against fellow high fliers Dover Athletic on Saturday.

Lewis started the game as the Shots went to Kent and helped his side to victory, with former U's loanee Nicke Kabamba coming off the bench to score the winner late in the game.

Craig Slater didn't have as enjoyable afternoon on his Dundee United debut on Saturday.

The Terrors travelled to Falkirk at the weekend, and Craig played an hour as his second placed side took on the second bottom Bairns.

The match went against the formbook though, with Falkirk running out 6-1 winners to move closer to the teams above them in the table.

Whilst Craig was playing in Scotland, Tommy O'Sullivan was in action in Wales, as his Torquay United side took on Wrexham.

It was a tough afternoon for the Gulls, who were beaten 4-0 with three of the goals coming in the first half.

Meanwhile, three of our younger players were also out on loan at the weekend.

George Keys came off the bench late in the game to help Brightlingsea Regent to a point away at Metropolitan Police, as they continue to establish themselves at Bostik Premier level.

Reuben Mudd started the game as Stanway Rovers ran out 2-0 winners away at Thetford Town to keep pace with the sides in the play-off spots in the Thurlow Nunn Premier.

Dean Ager was sidelined though, with a knee injury keeping him out of action for Bishop's Stortford, who picked up a point thanks to a debut goal from the ever green Jamie Cureton.
