The U’s start their pre-season against Maldon and Tiptree this Saturday and it has to be the best possible way to start the build up to the new season. With a footballing feast!
At 1.00pm, John McGreal’s will be revealing his new look team giving U’s fans their first chance to see the club’s new signings in action.
Fans will also get their first sighting of Colchester’s new 2018/19 away kit which promises to be their most talked about away kit for years.
John’s men will be taking on Wayne Brown’s men for Wayne’s first pre-season game in charge of the Jammers and admission prices are as follows:-
Adults: £5
U16s/concessions (65+): £2
Then at 3.00pm, thanks to Maldon installing multiple screens in and around the Park Drive stadium, it’s away with the blue and white of the U’s and the red and blue of the Jammers and then over to the red and white of St George for England’s Quarter Final game against Sweden, after the Three Lions reached this stage with a dramatic and heroic performance against the fiery Columbians.
They will be fighting for a place in the World Cup semi-final and the bar will also be open, giving you a chance to cheer on Gareth Southgate and the England team whilst enjoying the sunshine, the food and a nice cold Carlsberg or three.
