Will Wright has joined Dagenham & Redbridge on loan.
The young central defender will be with the Vanarama National League side until January, hoping to get first team football under his belt.
Wright is expected to make his Daggers' debut in tonight's game against Cambridge United, subject to the move being ratified by the relevent bodies.
He is one of a number of players that the U's feel can eventually play in the first team here at the JobServe Community Stadium but needs some experience elsewhere first, as Tony Humes explained when he spoke to the official website.
"This is a great move for Will, for us, and we hope for Dagenham as well. Will has the potential to be a first team player for us, but has players ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment.
"Rather than U23s football, he will be playing games in an extremely competitive league and that will only do him good over the next few months.
"Last week, we saw how strong Dagenham are when we played our pre-season game down there, and it will certainly be a beneficial spell for Will.
"He is in a group of players here that have proved themselves at U23s level and need that next step up - a step that can be made by playing out on loan at clubs like Dagenham & Redbridge."
