We are delighted to welcome powerful striker Frank Nouble to Colchester United as our latest summer signing.
26-year-old Frank has penned a two year contract to join the U's as our sixth addition of the close season, as we bolster our forward ranks ahead of the players' return for pre-season.
It's a return to East Anglia for Frank, who has previously played for Ipswich Town and Southend United in his career to date.
The 6'3 front man starrted his career at Chelsea before signing for West Ham and he spent three years at Upton Park, from where he enjoyed a number of loan spells - West Brom, Swansea City and Barnsley counted among his temporary stints away from East London.
His time at West Ham came to a close in 2012 when he signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Then, a year later, he headed to Portman Road, where he played 56 times across two seasons.
Whilst at the Tractor Boys, he also spent time on loan with Coventry, for whom he signed permanently in the 2015 January transfer window.
A stint in China provided a different perspective on football for Frank, before he returned to England in 2016 to sign for Gillingham on a short term deal.
Having left the Gills in January 2017, he then signed for the U's Essex rivals Southend United for the remainder of the 2016/17 campaign.
It was last season where he was to enjoy a productive twelve months, playing over 40 times in League Two for Newport, including a 13 minute hat-trick against Chesterfield.
His form in the amber of Newport attracted the attention of the U's and, with nearly 250 senior games under his belt, we are now looking forward to seeing him in action in Colchester colours.
Frank's move will be completed subject to international clearance and the paperwork being approved by the relevant authorities.
