U's Flash: Luke Is Latest Addition

Striker signs on a three year contract

27 June 2018

Colchester United are delighted to welcome striker Luke Norris to the club for an undisclosed fee, as John McGreal further boosts his forward ranks ahead of the new season.

25-year-old Luke has signed a three year contract to join the U's after a fee was agreed with his club Swindon Town.

Luke, who hails from the Stevenage area, began his professional career with Brentford.

After impressing with the Bees development squad, he went on to make three first team appearances and, after loan spells with Boreham Wood, Northampton and Dagenham, he moved to Gillingham in July 2014.

He spent two years with the Kent side, scoring 14 times, before moving onto Swindon Town ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, joining for an undisclosed six figure fee.

After six goals in his first season in Wiltshire, he enjoyed his best campaign yet in 2017/18.

He struck 13 times in 35 league games and added a further goal in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Swindon exercised an option to extend his contract in May, but the U's have now swooped to capture the combative forward ahead of the pre-season friendlies getting underway next week.

His move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance from the various regulatory authorities.
