Colchester United U23s fell to a home defeat to Bristol City in their latest home game.
Three first half goals put the Robins in a commanding position and they were not to loosen their grip on the game after the break.
City were in front after just two minutes, with George Nurse drilling home low into the bottom corner from a tight agnle.
The U's hit the inside of the post on 14 minutes through Tarryn Allarakhia, before Will Wright also headed over midway through the half.
However, Nurse got his and City's second on 28 minutes. Nurse struck another low shot and it beat the reach of goalkeeper Ryan Huddart.
Two became three ten minutes before half time when James Morton's strike from the outside of the box further extended their lead.
Half time saw JJ Wilson come on for Cole Kpekawa, but City continued to test the U's back line, with Huddart saving well from Semenyo.
U18s midfielder Callum Anderson came on for Allarakhia on the hour mark, and he was joined by Billy Cracknell 15 minutes later when he replaced triallist Chris Forino.
Visiting keeper Jojo Wollacott made a fine save from Decarrey Sheriff late on to preserve City's advantage and ensure they took the win.
U's: Huddart, W. Wright, Chesmain, Coker, Forino (Cracknell 77), Kpekawa (Wilson 46), Allarakhia (Anderson 62), Ager, Jones, Sheriff, Gondoh
