Colchester United's Football in the Community team will be launching two new fantastic disability programmes in April.
The U's community scheme has received funding to launch pan-disability football, along with frame and wheelchair multi-sport, and the schemes are also supported by the fundraising from last year's Football in the Community trip to Kenya.
Details of the two schemes are as follows:-
Pan-Disability Football
Starts: Thursday 19th April
Age Groups: 8-12 and 13-16
At: Outdoor sessions at Shrub End Community Sports Centre, CO2 9BG
Cost: FREE first session, then £2.50 per session
Our pan-disability football sessions will run throughout termtime and are aimed at all differing impairments.
The programme will take place on our state of the art 3G pitch, and offer the opportunity to participate in exciting and engaging practices. As well as developing skills within football, the programme will also help improve social skills and confidence.
Frame & Wheelchair Multisport
Starts: Monday 16th April
Age Groups: 8-12 and 13-16
At: Indoor sessions at Leisure World Highwoods, CO4 9PU
Cost: FREE first session, then £2.50 per session
Our frame and wheelchair multi-sport sessions will run throughout term time and will consist of various sports delivered indoors to participants using either frames or wheelchairs.
The aim of our programme is to create an enjoyable and safe environment for everybody to enjoy sport. During this programme, we will look to develop sporting skills, as well as social skills and confidence.
