Colchester United have secured the services of Tom Lapslie and Brennan Dickenson for another season.
The U's Director of Football Tony Humes spoke to the official website on Friday afternoon, and explained the details behind both players extending their time in north Essex.
"As with a number of our contracts, the club had an option included for an additional year, and we are taking up the options in both Tom and Brennan's cases," he said.
"It has been a tough season for Brennan personally, being injured for a lot of it, and it's been tough for us as a club to be without him.
"We all saw what he brings to the table - goals, assists and threats in the final third, and we all want to see that again in the coming campaign."
Moving onto the U's young midfielder, Humes added: "We have had Tom through the Academy and he has taken to first team football so comfortably in the past few years.
"His enthusiasm for the game, both on and off the pitch, is fantastic to see in a youngster, and also becomes infectious to others around him."
