Colchester United winger Ollie Sims has been called up to the first team squad for the final day trip to Exeter City.
The 17-year-old has enjoyed a productive first season as a scholar, making regular appearances in the U18s before breaking into the U's U23s.
And he has also had experience of senior football with a loan spell at Bostik Premier Brightlingsea Regent.
"He is very highly thought of by the coaches at the club and he is a very exciting prospect.
"He has had experience of mens' football in his time at Brightlingsea and he's trained with the first team in recent weeks too.
"He has earned this opportunity and he's one we're looking forward to seeing progress."
Ollie, who has been with the U's since he was 11 after joining from Cornard Dynamos, will take squad number 45.
