QPR Defeat U's U18s

Hutchinson goal only a late consolation

2 November 2018

It was a tough morning's work for Colchester United U18s on Saturday, as they fell to a heavy defeat against QPR.

The first half was a tight affair, and it was not until the 44th minute that the first goal of the game was scored, with Rangers taking the lead through Raheem Conte.

Aiming to get back into the match, the U's hopes were swept away in a nine minute period in the second half, where Rangers scored four times.

Bummi Babajide scored on 58 and 62 minutes, Joe Gubbins added a fourth on 65 and James Fahmy took the game further away from the U's on 67 minutes.

The scoring briefly stopped, but Rangers added a sixth and seventh on 75 and 82 minutes.

There was a slight consolation at the end of the game, as Jake Hutchinson grabbed another for his seasonal tally, after good work by Ollie Sims.
