In a match that was played at the Reaseheath ground, Crewe Alexandra ran out 3-1 winners against Colchester United.

After a tight first half, Crewe nudged themselves in front thanks to a header from Matty Fenton, as he got on the end of a free kick,

The hosts doubled their lead not long after half time as Rio Adebesi got onto a loose ball to tap home after an initial shot was saved.

And the game was taken further away from the U's as Malachi Linton lifted the ball into the net after Onyeka's header was blocked.

The U's were to be the final team on the scoresheet, though, as Harvey Sayer struck home a free kick.
