Big game expected on Tuesday night at the stadium

9 April 2019

Tuesday night's BBC Essex Senior Cup Final between  Chelmsford City and East Thurrock United takes place on Tuesday 9th April at the Jobserve Community Stadium (kick-off 7:45pm).

The Vanarama National League South rivals meet in a re-run of the 2017 showpiece fixture in front of what is expected to be a huge crowd at Colchester United.

Parking information has also been confirmed for supporters, with tickets priced at £12 for adults, £6 for seniors aged 65+ and £1 for U18s. Accompanied U11s are able to watch for free.

Chelmsford supporters will be situated in Blocks 1-2 of the West Stand, as well as Blocks 3-4 of the South Stand behind one goal. East Thurrock fans can watch from Blocks 7-9 of the West Stand, with the ability to open sections of the North Stand subject to sufficient demand.

Supporters can take advantage of the Park & Ride facilities in Cuckoo Farm Way. Further premium parking spaces may become available at a later date. Bars and refreshments will be readily available around the stadium and matchday programmes can be purchased for £2 each.

Essex County FA Chief Executive, Brendan Walshe, is looking forward to another showcase event for local grassroots football, explaining: "The BBC Essex Senior Cup Final is always one of the marquee events for the local game every season, and this year will be no different as two of non-league’s highest-ranking clubs meet in what will be a fascinating match.

"We’re also excited to, once again, provide useful workshops before the game where referees and coaches can attend and gather invaluable knowledge on the pathway available to them from people who know it well. We’re looking forward to the night and would urge everyone to secure their places in the stands or workshops as soon as they can!"

Colchester United have hosted the last two Senior Cup Finals, with four-figure attendances at each.

General Manager Tim Waddington commented: "We are delighted to once again be welcoming the Essex Senior Cup final to our stadium. The previous games have been intriguing affairs, with some fantastic football played.

"I am sure that this year’s finalists will put on a good show for everyone who comes to watch. We are also pleased to be able to help the Essex County FA provide their additional activities in support of grassroots football, and we’re sure this will be a night to do the county proud."

Match tickets will be available on the night from the Ticket Office, though booking online and using the 'Print at Home' option is advised to reduce queuing. The Ticket Office is also open in person from Monday to Friday (10:00am-2:00pm).

Any wheelchair, ambulant or disabled tickets (or disabled parking needed) can be arranged by calling (01206) 755161 (Monday to Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm).
