Walking challenge ahead of Cambridge game

13 August 2019

Colchester United's Head of Community Corin Haines will be undertaking twenty challenges to mark twenty years of working at the club in 2020. Here he updates on his first challenge - and invites you to participate in his second!

On Sunday 4th August, I started my Challenge 20/20, by kayaking 20km from Nayland to Manningtree along the Rover Stour.

Despite the river levels being low along the first few kilometres, which meant we had to carry and pull the kayak, the day was a real success and we completed it just over six hours.

It was great to be joined by some friends along with the club chairman Robbie Cowling and all his family, and without their support it would have not been possible.

For my next challenge, I hope to be joined by fans for the community walk from Layer Road to the JobServe Community Stadium prior to the Cambridge fixture on 17th August.

We plan to leave Layer Road at 11.45am arriving at the JobServe Community Stadium from around 2pm.

Should you wish to join me please email fitc@colchesterunited.net and we can provide further details!
