U's Flash: Cohen Signs On

Former Arsenal defender joins ahead of the new season

2 August 2019

Colchester United are delighted to welcome defender Cohen Bramall to the club ahead of Saturday’s game against Port Vale.

The 23-year-old has signed a two year contract after leaving Premier League side Arsenal at the end of last season and will take squad number 3 for his time at the U's.

Cohen, who was born in Crewe, had a rapid ascent into league football as he moved from Northern Premier League side Hednesford Town to Arsenal in January 2017.

During his time at the Gunners, he travelled to Australia and China with the first team in the summer of 2017 and, at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, he spent time in the Championship with Birmingham City playing eight times.

He returned to Arsenal and played in the 2018/19 EFL Trophy group stages for the Gunners U23s, before departing from the Emirates this summer.

Cohen's move to the U’s is subject to paperwork clearance from the relevant authorities.

Welcome to the club, Cohen!
