Addicks Next For U23s

Charlton youngsters visit north Essex

16 December 2019

Colchester United U23s face Charlton on Monday evening

It will be the U's youngsters last outing at the JobServe Community Stadium before the New Year, with Championship side Charlton Athletic providing the opposition.

Richard Hall is hoping for a decent performance under the lights, telling the official website: "There is something different about playing at the stadium, and it should always add a bit to the game."

"We are trying to prepare the lads for first team football, so that's another reason why it helps to play some of our matches here.

"All the players should have the first team squad in their thoughts, and performing well in these games can help them get noticed.

"We also have the likes of Ollie Kensdale, Michael Fernandes and Louis Dunne playing, who have already tasted that first team scene and will be eager to keep themselves in the picture."

U's: Coulter, Hallett, Kensdale, Scarlet, Weaire, Dunne, Collinge, Anderson, Sims, Hutchinson, Fernandes, Reed, Freitas-Gouveia, Cracknell, Sayer, Issa
