Florence Park Update

Parking restricted, but Academy games available to stream

3 December 2019

Changes have been made for Academy games at Colchester United's training ground

Chairman Robbie Cowling has made the following statement concerning the Academy matches played at Florence Park:

Since we opened our training ground at Florence Park, we have allowed the public to park in the car park when they come to watch the Academy fixtures.

However, due to the size of the car park and the number of vehicles we have to accommodate on the day of a fixture, public access to the car park is no longer an option for us.

Recent fixtures have resulted in complete chaos, with cars being parked on areas of the training ground that are not intended for parking and that action has basically ruined those areas.

Spectators are still welcome to attend the games live but for all future fixtures, access to the car park will only be provided to the staff who work at Florence Park and to those who have been provided with a parking permit for that fixture.

I appreciate that there is no alternative parking close by, so I have implemented the following alternative for those of you that want to watch these games but can’t get there on foot.

Florence Park Match Streaming
On Wednesday 4th December, we are releasing an upgrade to the ticketing web site at www.colutickets.com that will allow account holders to log in and watch the U23s and U18s games via our own streaming service which will be accessible via the Dashboard.

All users will be provided with access to the U23s and U18s games played at Florence Park, and those users who are season ticket holders or have lodged at least £50 on a Privilege Card this season will also have access to the U23s games played at the JobServe Community stadium.

The footage streamed is what we capture to analyse games so please don’t expect a Sky Sports like experience.

We believe streaming events will be a great addition for fans, but please bear in mind that we have released the product early due to the reasons described above.

If you would like to see what this footage is like then from Wednesday onwards please log in to your online account at www.colutickets.com or create an account if you haven’t already done so and you will see some of the recorded footage we have captured recently.

The next fixture at the JobServe Community Stadium to be streamed is scheduled to take place on Monday 16th December at 7pm, with streaming starting at 6.55pm.

The next match to be played at Florence Park is scheduled to take place on Friday 20th December at 12noon, with streaming starting at 11:55pm.

Thank you for your continued support
