Colchester United's U18s fell to a heavy defeat in their latest league outing, this time away at Charlton.
After their 3-1 success in the Eastern Junior Alliance Cup over Ware during the week which saw them reach the semi final after two goals by Tom Stagg and another by Jake Hutchinson, the squad travelled to Sparrows Lane to take on Charlton in their first league match for several weeks, as their last two home games were called off due to the pitch conditions of frost, then rain.
Despite a bright start to the match in South London, it ended up being a heavy defeat for the visitors, in a game which the best U’s chances were two goals, both of which ruled out for offside.
