Clampin Signs New U's Deal

Teenager pens contract to summer of 2021

8 January 2019

Colchester United Academy product Ryan Clampin has signed a new deal with the club to extend his stay with the U's.

Ryan made his first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy game against Southampton U21s earlier in the season, coming on as a second half substitute in that match.

He has now signed a new contract to take him through to the summer of 2021 as he looks to become the next U's youngster to establish himself longer term in the first team picture.

The Colchester born 19-year-old has progressed from the U's U9s to make his U's debut in that Saints clash and Director of Football Tony Humes said: "He has been through the whole journey with our Academy and it's great to see another young local player representing the first team.

"He has benefitted from a full season out at Maldon & Tiptree, which pushed him closer to our first team environment.

"We're now looking for him to become a regular in the first team squad and then push for the first team itself."
