14 January 2019

Colchester United U23s Lead Coach is to assist Needham Market Academy until the end of the season.

Whilst also continuing his role within the U's U23s, Kevin will take on the Academy Manager role with the Marketmen, as he covers for U's legend Steve Foley, who is currently unwell and needing some time away from football.

Kevin, who has previous connections with Needham, prior to his arrival at the U's, will manage Needham Market reserves as part of the temporary arrangement.

U's Director of Football Tony Humes said: "Kevin has strong connections with Needham so, when this opportunity came up for him, we were more than happy to agree to him helping out.

"It will provide him with even more experience as a coach with different responsbilities and working with another group of players.

"We have good links with Needham, so this works well for all parties.

"Finally, it goes without saying we wish Steve well at this time. He has a strong history with Colchester United and is well respected across the local football scene, so we all pass on our best wishes."

Robert Peace, Needham Market Academy Operations Director said, "This is a fantastic appointment for the Academy, Kevin spent many successful years previously within the Academy and has further developed his career and will provide his leadership for the remainder of the season.

"Kevin has always held Needham Market in high regard and we have kept in contact since his departure three years ago, he is the right individual to bring in at this moment."
