Vale Trip For The U's

Three points the aim in weekend encounter

11 January 2019

Colchester United will look to move back into the play-off spots on Saturday afternoon, when they take on Port Vale in their latest away game.

The U's battled back for a point in their last game against Notts County, but will be aiming for all three points when they make their latest trip to Vale Park.

John McGreal's side drew both of their matches against Vale last season and picked up all three points on the opening day of the 2018/19 campaign when they defeated Saturday's opponents by a 2-0 scoreline.

Courtney Senior has scored in both of the last two matches against Vale, and is hoping to add to that tally at the weekend.

"Hopefully I can try and get another goal on Saturday," he told the local media at this week's press conference.

“I try to make a difference out there, whether it’s by scoring or helping someone else score.

“It means a lot to get the assists and I need to carry on getting my numbers, my assists and goals.

“Getting three points and a win against Port Vale would kick-start us again and we can hopefully carry on pushing on from there.”

Frankie Kent is back from his suspension against County last week, as the U's look for a first win of 2019.

Tickets for the game will be available from the away sales kiosk by the away stand, open from 1.00pm and this is cash only.

Vale have a dedicated stand for supporters with disabilities, which is mixed between home and away fans, at the opposite end of the stadium to the away supporters.

This stand is suitable for ambulant disabled who require accessible facilities and all wheelchair users.

Tickets for this stand must be booked direct with Vale in advance by calling their Ticket Office on 01782 655821.

Car parking is available at £10 per car for the above stand, whilst general parking is available, pay on the day, at £5 per car and £16 per minibus.
