Seagulls Snap Up Miller

Todd signs for Premier League Brighton

19 July 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Colchester United youngster Todd Miller

The sixteen year old starlet became the youngest ever first team player for the U's when he came on for Courtney Senior at Exeter in March.

He then trained regularly with the first team squad for the remainder of the season, ahead of completing his GCSEs in his final year at Secondary School.

He joins up with the Premier League Seagulls for pre-season training, and is expected to be with the Academy groups initially.

U's Director of Football Tony Humes had mixed feelings about the news, explaining: "I'm torn between being delighted for Todd and disappointed we won't see more of him in a U's shirt."

"The element of disappointment is there because we want to develop our players and see them progress into the first team here in north Essex, that's the main aim of the Academy."

"But when a young player gets an opportunity to be at a Premier League side and feels that step is best for him, there's no way we would stand in his way and we all wish him the best of luck.

"It shows the calibre of player that we are developing that Premier clubs are knocking on the door and that bodes well for the club and everyone who has worked with Todd can take a bit of credit."
