Colchester United are delighted to welcome Danish youth international defender Matthew Weaire to the club on a two year contract.
Central defender Matthew, who turns 18 in August, started life at Chelsea before joining Brighton & Hove Albion, where he spent six years.
He played regularly for their U18s and U23s side during his time at the Seagulls and also enjoyed a loan spell with Gosport Borough last season.
Qualifying for Denmark through his mother, Matthew has played for the Danish U19s when was 16 and will be hoping to make a big impression in Colchester colours.
