Colchester United are pleased to welcome former Aston Villa defender Luke Ige to the club, following his departure from the Premier League side at the end of last season.
The 18-year-old came through the ranks at Villa Park, and plays down the right side of the pitch, including at right back for the U's on trial for the U23s towards the end of last season.
Luke joined Villa as an fifteen-year-old, signing on as a scholar at sixteen.
Following the completion of his scholarship, he came on trial with the U's, featuring in the matches against Burnley and Crewe Alexandra.
Luke has signed a one year contract to join up with the U's ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
