Llewellyn Returns To Wales

U18s coach takes on a new role

26 June 2019

Colchester United U18s manager Chris Llewellyn is to return to Wales, to take up a Head of Coaching position with Carmarthen Town.

Chris, who spent two years with the U's after arriving from Swansea City, will join up with Town ahead of their pre-season.

And, as part of his role, he will look after the FA of Wales' skill acquisition programme, developed by the FAW Trust.

Chris told the Carmarthen website: "I'm really excited about the challenges that lay ahead.

"I'm really passionate about Welsh football and when the opportunity to work in Wales arose, I couldn't turn it down."

With Chris' departure, there will be a new look staff in the Academy this season, with a new Academy Manager, U23s boss and U18s manager to join the club.

And Director of Performance Jon De Souza said: "We wish Chris well with his new challenge and thank him for his time at Colchester United.

"We have in mind what our plans are for the new season and hope to be able to confirm the set-up for 2019/20 very soon."
