Colchester United have signed Sam Saunders for the remainder of the season.
The experienced midfielder has signed a short term deal for the U's, which runs until the end of May.
With Harry Pell's injury keeping him out of action for the season, the U's were on the lookout for a replacement, and were able to sign Saunders because he was a free agent at the end of the January transfer window.
He had been with Wycombe Wanderers since January 2017, and had his contract mutually terminated two months ago.
After spending time in the Academies of Charlton Athletic and Fulham as a schoolboy, Saunders then dropped into non-league before winning promotion back to the league with Dagenham & Redbridge in 2007.
He then won promotion from League One with Brentford, where he played 170 league games, before signing for Wycombe in January 2017.
The midfielder is expected to go straight into the U's squad for the game at Cambridge United this weekend.
