Colchester United U23s picked up all three points in their latest away day on Thursday afternoon, as a late goal secured victory.
The U's scored after just seven minutes and, although Bristol City levelled things up in the second half, Ryan Clampin's winner saw the points return to Essex.
Aaron Barnes grabbed the U's first goal and his effort was enough to see Kevin Horlock's men in front at the interval.
A defensive mistake saw Tom Richards level it up just after the hour mark, but Clampin's deflected effort seven minutes from time gave the U's the win.
U's: Coulter, Barnes, Sayer, Anderson, Agboola, Collinge, Hamilton, Ager (Krasniqi 71), Hutchinson, Chilvers (Ochieng 61), Clampin
