Colchester United Football in the Community are set to team up with the National Citizen Service to deliver a fantastic programme of events this summer.
National Citizen Service (NCS) is the country’s fastest-growing youth movement, a rite of passage for all teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do. It is seen as chance to explore, be inspired and find a passion. Nearly 500,000 young people have already taken part and Colchester United Football in the Community will now become a delivery partner to help the scheme grow further.
Callum Murphy, who will be leading on the NCS project for the U's Football in the Community said: "We are extremely excited to be working in partnership to deliver NCS for Summer 2019. This is another programme for the Football in the Community team to provide a growing number of opportunities to young people in the local area.
"The programme is split into four stages for the young people to complete.
"Phase 1 being all about adventure and testing their limits, Phase 2 a chance to enhance those all-important life skills. Phase 3, a social action project delivered in the local community with the aim of creating a long lasting legacy.
"Finally, Phase 4 is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements at a Graduation event. The combination of these four phases really does provide some life changing experiences that will shape the young people involved."
So if you're a young person who wants to boost their UCAS statement or CV, meet incredible people, get your voice heard and have a lot of fun while you’re at it, then NCS is for you.
We are also seeking an NCS Team Assistant to support this year's programme.
