Duo Extend Loan Spells

Chilvers and Kensdale remain at Bath City

29 November 2019

Colchester United youngsters Noah Chilvers and Ollie Kensdale are extending their loan spells away from north Essex

The duo have been at Bath City for the past few weeks, and will now stay in Somerset until the New Year.

Both have been regular starters for the National League South club, playing seven games in their loan spells so far.

And getting games under their belts was an important aspect for the youngsters, with Kensdale saying: "I've really enjoyed my time at Bath and have been playing regularly."

"That's obviously the main thing for our loan spells, play regularly and develop into better players for when we return to Colchester United.

"Bath play in a similar way to the U's, and that certainly made it an easy decision to stay until January."

And U's Director of Footbal Tony Humes echoed the sentiment, adding: "Both Noah and Ollie have benefitted massively in their first month at Bath."

"At their age, they need to be regularly playing to challenge themselves and develop their games.

"That's been happening regularly at Bath so thanks to them for showing faith and trust in the lads, and well done to the lads for putting in the performances that have earned that faith and trust."

U’s midfielder Chilvers said of his spell at the West Country side: “It’s been a great experience for me, to be playing men’s football regularly and developing different aspects of my game that don’t really get tested with the U23s.”

“I have played every game that I could have done at Bath and have played ninety minutes in them all, so it’s been really beneficial for my football and my fitness. I have also got a couple of goals, which should always be a part of a midfielder’s game so that’s been a bonus as well.”
